about
This version of I Have A Brain was part of an ill-fated album that I recorded during the years 2011-2012. All of the tracking for said album was completed, but, due to what I will refer to as extremely extraordinary preternatural proclivities, the finished product never came to fruition. Fortunately, this sole track made it through the preliminary mixes in a near-finished state, and, with the help, support, and behest of some dear friends, I hereby share it with you.
lyrics
Well, I wouldn't consider my life as a mess,
But it sure isn't clean and it doesn't make sense.
Oh, why can't I find?
And still the pressure that's always contending with me,
It won't cease or give in. No, I'll never be free.
Oh, why can't I hide?
Because I have a brain.
I have a brain the size of a cantaloupe,
But I can't see why my life is on a negative slope,
Oh, why can't I find?
And I expend all my energy trying to cope,
With decisions I've made, and mistakes,
I've become something I could never hide.
What I need is a rebirth, you see.
Insight in the form of an epiphany.
Oh, why can't I find?
Spring is a time full of love and of life,
And for all the great questions those answers are right,
But I don't see why.
Have we met before? Yes, I think we have.
Have we met before? Spring has come again.
Do you have any idea how it feels to be lost and alone?
To be without a heart, to be without a mind, to be without a home?
I'll find vision, it's there.
It's my rebirth, I swear,
Realization is near.
See your face in the crowd, see the sun through the clouds,
And it's all so clear.
